Refunds & Cancellation

Refund and Cancellation Policy

Cancelling Right After You Book: Plans change, and we get that. Cancel your ticket within 24 hours of purchase and we will not charge any cancellation fee.

Cancelling Later: Once more than 24 hours have passed since you booked, a small cancellation fee applies.

When a Refund Can Be Requested: We review a refund request only if the following are true:

  • A cancellation and refund request has been filed, and the fare rules allow money back.
  • The booking has not been marked as a "no show" (most "no show" bookings do not qualify for a waiver from the supplier).
  • We are able to obtain a waiver from the supplier covering the cancellation and refund you asked for.

How Long a Refund Takes:

  • We cannot promise an exact time frame for completing a refund.
  • After you send a cancellation request, you will get an acknowledgment email containing a tracking number.
  • That email only confirms we received your request; it does not mean a refund has been approved.
  • We then ask the suppliers (airlines, hotels and car-rental companies) for waivers, according to the rules each one sets.
  • As soon as a supplier decides, we will let you know the outcome.
  • The service fees charged for your original reservation cannot be refunded.

Seeing the Money on Your Card:

  • After a supplier signs off, the refund can take further time before it shows on your credit card statement.
  • Suppliers commonly deduct penalties from refunds.
  • From the day we receive your request to the day the credit is posted, the whole process can run 30 to 60 days.
  • Flights Monkey may apply a post-ticketing service fee for each passenger and each ticket whenever the airline or supplier rules allow a refund.
  • Should the supplier not issue the refund, we will return our post-ticketing service fees, but the original booking fees stay non-refundable.
